In 2002 I met a lady named Margaret Benson. Little did I know at the time that she would end up being such a huge part of my life! Back then I was coaching rowing and she needed a coach for The World Transplant Games. You see, Margaret has CF (cystic fibrosis) and when she was diagnosed with the disease as a teenager, her life expectancy was only about 25. Not Margaret. 10 years ago she got a new pair of lungs and for her 50th birthday she definitely celebrated as only Margaret can!
This week on Tuesday Rocky Mountaineer hosted their usual 800 passengers on the train with 40 very special people.... All of these people are organ recipients; the youngest was a baby when she received hers!! So, Margaret asked me to come down for the send off. You can find the full photoset HERE; but here are a couple of images from the very early morning!
